Jack Haltom

King Phillip Regional High School

“I joined the program in 2024 with my good friend Jett Tucker. I used my skills from making YouTube videos and Jett's skills in business to develop our project, and placed 4th in Start-Up Business Plan, narrowly missing DECA Glass. We gave it our all junior year once again, trying many new and strange ideas in Business Growth Plan. Despite this, we couldn't make it back to finals that year. So, in senior year we took what we learned from these experiences and added a new partner, Logan Riley, to spice things up. With a new direction, new purpose, and new growth mindset (shoutout to the 4 Gs!) we won 1st place in Start-Up Business Plan at Atlanta in 2026. The journey to get here was one of many twists and turns but was incredibly valuable to my own growth in business and in my personal life.”

— Jack, when asked about his DECA journey so far and what led him to work towards glass

What would you want to tell younger members?

“Do what you love and love what you do, and always remember that its not about glass, it's about the friends you made along the way!”
