Elif Koparan

Hey Mass DECA! My name is Elif Koparan, and I’m so honored to be serving on State Action Team 68! I’m currently a junior at Dover-Sherborn High School, and the Executive Vice President of my DECA chapter.

As the daughter of two business professors, I’ve always been drawn to the field, and it is my dream to be a professor in behavioral economics or consumer psychology. I joined DECA in my chapter's founding year, and (somehow) we made it all the way to ICDC. Witnessing the relentless work of our leadership team and the electricity of ICDC opened my eyes to the scale of this organization and the dedication it takes to run it. That was when I knew I wanted to make my own mark by running for state office. Since then, this organization has given me unforgettable opportunities, including placing 13th at ICDC this last year in Integrated Marketing Campaign Service! I’m endlessly grateful for the people I’ve met, lessons I’ve learned, and experiences I’ve had through DECA. I can’t wait to make even more memories this year!

Outside of DECA, I am a proud mother to my sourdough starter, Wendy. I’ve been doing theatre since I was 5, and I play bass guitar, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and piano. My favorite artists at the moment are Beabadoobee, The Sundays, and Radiohead!

My DMs on Instagram (@decaelif) are always open for questions, or if you just want to chat. Mass DECA, I’m so excited to get to know you all, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds. Go team 68!
