Kourosh Farboodmanesh

Hey Mass DECA! My name is Kourosh Farboodmanesh, and I am a senior at Wellesley High School. I joined Wellesley DECA in my sophomore year, which was also the second year of our chapter since its founding. Last year, I had the honor of serving as the Executive Vice President of my chapter. This year, I have the absolute privilege of serving as a Team 67 State Officer.

In my first year, I competed in the Financial Consulting hybrid event, where I presented about peer-to-peer payment platforms for small businesses. I was successful at both the district and state levels and was the first Wellesley DECA member ever to attend ICDC. My four days in ICDC were some of the most memorable of my life. I had the opportunity to meet and connect with many Mass DECA members, which lit a spark in me and motivated me to become a state officer.

Outside of DECA, I work in my town’s local government, run a business, and work on political campaigns. I founded a program at my school called “DECA pathways” alongside some of my classmates that empowers younger students at my school to join DECA and works to enhance our relatively new chapter. This past summer, I worked on two different mayoral campaigns, prepared a bill to submit to the Wellesley town meeting, and got to watch a bunch of soccer.

I can’t wait to work with you all this year! And if there’s any way that we can help out, please feel free to reach out to us!
