Kara Martin
Hey Mass DECA!
My name is Kara Martin and I’m a senior at Burlington High School. This is my fourth year in DECA, and I've been a member since my freshman year. I am super excited to return back to in-person events and make this year something to remember!
I knew DECA was right for me when I placed at my first SCDC, freshman year. I was second in Hotel & Lodging Management and at the time it was the highlight of my high school career. That year was a whirlwind of excitement as I went to my first ICDC in Orlando, where I met new friends from around the country and saw the leadership that makes DECA thrive. Since then, I've been a leader within my chapter and held a number of different positions. I've served as a Burlington DECA Mentor, VP of Career Development, and this year I’m the president.
When I'm not participating in DECA-related activities, you will probably find me in my kitchen, at work, or on a track. I absolutely love to bake and I make everything from legendary chocolate chip cookies to delicious cupcakes. I also run indoor and outdoor track and compete in events such as the 100 hurdles and 400 hurdles.
Thank you for choosing me to represent you and serve as your Association Officer. I look forward to meeting all of you and working with Team 63 to make your DECA experience unforgettable.
