Aditya Venkat
Hey Mass DECA! My name is Aditya Venkat. I am a senior at Westford Academy, and this is my fourth year in DECA.
My DECA journey began in freshman year. I already knew I was going to join DECA because Westford Academy has a huge DECA chapter, and almost every freshman joins. In my first year, I competed in Principles of Finance and instantly fell in love with the world of finance and economics. This love has led me to my current event, Business Finance, and fueled my dedication to DECA, resulting in success as a leader and competitor. Between qualifying for ICDC twice, finishing top 20 at ICDC, serving as a chapter officer at Westford Academy, and ultimately becoming a Mass DECA state officer, I have had opportunities unparalleled by anything I have ever done. My DECA journey has been great, and I am very excited for not only my personal DECA journey but our future as Mass DECA as well!
Outside of DECA, I run Cross country in the fall, play soccer in the spring, and play the piano. I’m also in NHS and our school’s elementary mentorship program. On the weekends I’m typically in Boston (probably eating food) or hanging out with friends. I’m also a HUGE sneaker guy. I am always scouring the internet for new pairs that I can get at a good price, or flip for a higher price later on. For my sneakerheads out there: I barely win on SNKRS, but I have scored pairs of Mocha 1s, Off-White Jordan 5’s, Ice Stealth 5s, and Sacai Blazers.
This year I have two main goals as an officer on Team 63: first, to build a year that is fun and makes up for this past year of virtual DECA, and second, to use my experiences and opportunities to grow as a person and member in society. I firmly believe that my experience from the past three years more than equips me to handle anything that comes my way this year, and I can confidently say the same for the other members of Team 63.
I hope I get the opportunity to meet as many of you as possible, always feel free to reach out, my Instagram handle is @deca_aditya! Thank you again for electing me to serve on your Team 63, and let's make this post-COVID year amazing together
