Reham Harrati
Hello Mass DECA! My name is Reham Harrati and I’m beyond excited to serve Mass. DECA on State Action Team 63. This will be my third year in DECA and I hope to achieve even greater things with my team for Mass DECA members.
Entering my freshman year at Nipmuc Regional, I didn’t have any interest in business until I took an introductory class just to fill a spot in my schedule; from there, I was introduced to DECA and it’s incredible opportunities. For my third year as a DECA member, I will be competing in a written event (category unknown) after two years of competing in the Human Resources Management Series Event. During my first year, I realized DECA was so much more than just a business club - it is a place to explore different careers, hone your public speaking skills, and meet new people across the state (and the country!). The people I’ve met during district, state, and international conferences continue to inspire me, and they are the reason I decided to run for a spot on Team 63.
Outside of DECA, I serve as my school’s National English Honors Society President, where we create opportunities for students to improve their writing and participate in writing competitions. We also organize spaces to network with other passionate readers and writers, similar to the way we connect with each other in DECA. In addition, I enjoy taking Spanish courses to become fluent in my third language; I’ve always been interested in different cultures and languages, and serving on the Mass DECA Cultural Advisory Board last year was the perfect opportunity to connect my personal interests with DECA. In my free time, I love reading, travelling, and making coffee!
I’ve gained many valuable skills and lifelong friendships through DECA and I hope to continue working with all the incredible members to create a lively, inclusive environment for everyone to enjoy.
