Indiana Troupe (He/Him)

Hey Mass DECA! My name is Indiana Troupe, and I am super excited to be able to serve on State Action Team 63 this year. I’ve been a DECA member for 3 years now and I am ready to take this next step up in DECA.

I started at Wareham High School as an 8th grader, and at the time I was unsure about joining DECA. I had lots of other commitments already, so I didn’t know if I wanted to add DECA to my plate. This was until I had a business class with my chapter advisor and I was convinced to sign up to join at the beginning of my 8th-grade year. The next year, I placed 4th in my category - Principles of Hospitality of Tourism - and qualified for ICDC. Unfortunately, COVID-19 changed everyone’s plans and I was not able to go to ICDC. I later became more involved in Mass DECA and International DECA events and grew more of an interest in running as a State Officer for Mass DECA. And now here I am!

Outside of DECA, I am very involved in other clubs at our school. I am the President of our junior class and am involved in other clubs like A/V Club, ModelUN, National Honor Society, Global Education, and Key Club. I also play field hockey at Wareham. And outside of school, I have 3 jobs. I work at Water Wizz, where I basically yell at kids to “walk” during the summer, at Cape Cod Central Railroad as a Cast Member for our Polar Express Train during the Christmas season, and at Wareham Community Television as an intern and producer. I love being busy and always find time to balance my activities! In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with friends, playing guitar, and going for runs.

I am truly so blessed to be able to work for our members this year and make this the best year for Mass DECA ever! I can’t wait to see you all at SCDC in Boston this year and at our other events throughout the year, and I look forward to working with and meeting every single one of you. Follow me on Instagram @deca.indy to keep track of what my team and I are working on throughout the year!
