Thal Nogueira (He/Him)

Hi Mass DECA! My name is Thal Nogueira and I am am a senior at Taunton High School. I joined DECA my freshman year and immediately fell in love with its competitive and fun atmosphere. Leading up to this point, I’ve become more and more involved with DECA each year. Now, in my fourth and final year, I am beyond excited to serve you on State Action Team 64.

DECA has allowed me to go out of my comfort zone. Three years ago if you asked me to choose my least favorite activity, it would be public speaking. My answer to that question hasn’t necessarily changed, but my outlook on it has. Public speaking is no longer a dreaded event for me, but instead an opportunity to learn and grow as a person. During my time as state officer, I plan to encourage others to push themselves and go out of their comfort zones just as I did.

In my freetime, you’ll find me with my nose in a book, listening to Taylor Swift, working out, or seating people and packing to-go orders at work. I play field hockey in the fall and enjoy staying active in the off-season by hiking, running, and trying out new workouts. I’m also a member of my school’s NHS chapter.
