Trinjan Kaur (she/her)

Hello Massachusetts DECA! My name is Trinjan Kaur and I am thrilled to be serving all of you on State Action Team 64. This will be my second year in DECA and I aspire to work toward making Massachusetts DECA more amazing than it already is.

Entering my sophomore year at King Philip Regional High School I knew that this year would be like no other because this was my first year of DECA. I have grown up watching siblings and friends go through DECA and evolve into some of the most hardworking and confident people I know. This past year I have experienced events that have already become core memories for me, finally being able to understand and embrace what people say when they talk about being part of the DECA family. I hope to be able to help every single Massachusetts DECA member feel this sense of community, whilst simultaneously bringing out the confidence and potential within every single one of you.

This past DECA year I was able to design the SCDC t-shirts along with finish as a finalist at ICDC. If there is one thing that I learned from this past DECA year it is to take the chance on every single opportunity offered to you. Never tell yourself that you are not skilled enough to do something just because you have never done it before. I urge you all to believe in yourself and strive to give your 100% to every single opportunity presented to you because without being able to do this you will hinder yourself from reaching your full potential.

Outside of DECA, I have served as Freshman Class Treasurer and Sophomore Class Fundraising Coordinator. I have also helped plan and operate a state senate election campaign. One of my passions is history and because of this I work closely with organizations that revolve around helping widespread the stories of minority groups and cultures, dedicating my time to researching for them and helping them draft articles that appeal to Gen Z. Having served as Miss Teen India Massachusetts and Miss Teen Bharat New England, fashion is something that is naturally close to my heart. Throughout my pageant career, I have seen the consistent issue of how expensive the clothing is. I believe that the only way to bring change is by actively trying to solve the problems we see in the world, so I created my own boutique that is more affordable than most of what is currently available in the market.

Thank you Massachusetts DECA for entrusting me with the responsibility of serving on State Action Team 64. I promise to keep my word on raising the bar with Trinjan Kaur and I look forward to meeting many of you this upcoming year.
